Positive mindset

To be positive despite diagnosis!

Everything is relative and everyone is different with different conditions and needs. Therefore, there is no answer to how to be positive, it is what you make of it individually.

You can think that through a diagnosis you have got answers to the symptoms you had before that you did not know what it was due to. With a diagnosis, you can read and understand it while you can avoid the worry you had before. A chronic diagnosis also means that you can live and are allowed to live! There are diagnoses that mean that you die quite soon after you receive the news.

Even if we have symptoms, we often have a brain to think with, which allows us to use our senses and experience things. With arms and legs, we can do extremely well! We can get around, lift things and also take care of ourselves.

Of course, it’s sad with a diagnosis, but when it’s the way it is, you can’t remove it. However, you can choose whether you take it positively or negatively.

Just sitting outside or taking a walk with music can make you not think about the diagnosis for a while. Some people don’t think about it at all, while others do.

Finding others in the same situation is important. It gives a sense of belonging and you understand each other in a way that healthy people can never understand. An association makes sure that you find each other and can get support, help and advice.

Without a doubt, the most important factor to get better conditions and recognition is that the diagnosis becomes more known. You can do this through reports in newspapers and share what is written online about the diagnosis. If you are seen, you are there and there we must help each other!
